About the Role:
Supply Care Solutions are currently recruiting for a Social Work Assistant on behalf of Durham Council.

This is a rewarding and varied role supporting children in care and their families. The successful candidate will play a vital part in promoting the safety, wellbeing, and emotional development of children and young people, working closely with social workers, carers, and partner agencies.

Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise and support Family Time sessions between children in care and family members, ensuring strict adherence to safety plans
• Transport children to and from contact sessions and other required appointments
• Undertake Life Story Work, creating meaningful life story books to support children in understanding their personal histories
• Work with caregivers to complete Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaires (SDQs) to assess emotional and behavioural needs
• Complete targeted direct work with children and carers to strengthen and maintain stable home environments
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to case documentation as required

Requirements:
• Full UK driving licence
• Access to a vehicle with appropriate business insurance
• Experience working with children and families (preferably within a social care setting)
• Strong communication and report-writing skills
• Ability to follow safeguarding procedures, risk assessments, and safety plans
