About the Role:
We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Advanced Practitioner to join their Looked After Children Service in Darlington. This is a locum temporary contract, initially for 3 months, with the potential for extension.

The role offers agile working, with an expectation that the successful candidate will be office-based a minimum of two days per week to provide management oversight in line with the Advanced Practitioner remit. You will play a pivotal role in supporting high-quality practice across the service, holding a small caseload and providing professional guidance, challenge, and oversight to Social Workers managing complex cases.

Key Responsibilities:
• Holding a small caseload of complex Looked After Children cases
• Supporting and advising Social Workers on complex casework
• Providing professional guidance, challenge, and oversight
• Completing supervision in line with service expectations
• Chairing strategy meetings and stability meetings
• Providing duty cover once per week, and more frequently if required
• Supporting management oversight and promoting best practice across the service

Requirements:
• Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
• Substantial experience within Looked After Children services
• Proven experience managing and supporting complex cases
• Confidence delivering supervision and chairing multi-agency meetings
• Ability to work flexibly within an agile working model
