About the Role:
We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client in Darlington for an experienced Interim Service Manager to join their Care Planning Service. This is a key leadership role with responsibility for delivering high-quality outcomes for children and families, operating within a strong relational practice model. The post holder will play a critical role in providing stability, oversight, and effective leadership across statutory children’s services.

Key Responsibilities:
• Line management of three Assessment and Safeguarding Teams working with:
– Children in Need
– Children in Need of Protection
– Children in Care
– Children subject to private and public law proceedings
• Management oversight of the Children with Disabilities Team
• Working closely alongside another Service Manager and the Head of Service
• Ensuring effective practice, performance management, and quality assurance across services
• Promoting and embedding relational practice across teams

Requirements:
• Proven experience as a Service Manager, or an experienced Team Manager ready to step up
• Strong understanding and practical application of relational practice
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams within statutory children’s services
• Ability to provide confident leadership, stability, and professional oversight in an interim role
