About the Role:
Supply Care Solutions is pleased to present an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Community Nurse to join our NHS client’s dedicated Community Nursing Team in beautiful Orkney, Scotland.
This is a unique chance to deliver high-quality community nursing care while experiencing one of Scotland’s most stunning island environments.
The role includes full-time hours, participation in the on-call rota, and free shared accommodation for the duration of the assignment. You will work autonomously within a designated Community Team and provide relief cover across other mainland teams where required.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate high-quality nursing care in the community
• Work autonomously and within NMC/NHS competencies in line with The Code (NMC, 2018)
• Promote health education, healthy lifestyles, and home safety
• Manage caseloads in the absence of the Senior Community Nurse
• Coordinate your own work rota with the nominated community nurse
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams across partner agencies
• Support patients, families, and carers with clear, person-centred communication
• Maintain nursing stock and resources effectively and cost-efficiently
• Promote independence, enablement, and rehabilitation
• Participate in evidence-based practice, research, and clinical audits
• Respond to daytime and out-of-hours emergency care needs using clinical judgement
• Mentor students and act as a role model to colleagues and carers
• Liaise with Social Services and complete Single Shared Assessments
• Manage complex clinical and emotional situations (e.g., palliative care)
• Take part in MDT meetings, case conferences, and discharge planning
• Maintain accurate and compliant clinical and administrative records
• Engage in ongoing CPD, clinical supervision, and reflective practice

Requirements:
• NMC Registered Nurse (Band 5)
• Previous community nursing experience preferred
• Strong clinical decision-making and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Ability to travel across Orkney Mainland
• Willingness to participate in the on-call rota
