About the Role:
Supply Care Solutions is pleased to present an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Best Interest Assessor (BIA) to join Worcestershire County Council. This role is ideal for an advanced practitioner with substantial experience in Mental Capacity Act (MCA) and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) practice.
You will complete three face-to-face assessments per week, with payment made per successfully submitted assessment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Participate in the DoLS authorisation process with multi-agency partners
• Complete Best Interest Assessments in line with legislation and the DoLS Code of Practice
• Manage complex cases using advanced, specialist knowledge
• Provide expert consultation to BIAs and Community Social Work Teams regarding MCA practice
• Support professional development and maintain adequate BIA coverage across the county
• Use case law to inform decision-making, processes, and procedures
• Work collaboratively with local authority and health partners to ensure lawful DoLS authorisations
• Refer cases to safeguarding when authorisations are refused to support less restrictive options
• Promote best practice in capacity assessments and Best Interest decisions across services
• Support the Manager in communicating DoLS processes to staff, service users, carers, and the public
• Produce regular reports on assessment activity and outcomes
• Contribute to safeguarding-related projects promoting excellence

Requirements:
• Qualified and experienced Best Interest Assessor
• Strong working knowledge of MCA, DoLS, and relevant case law
• Ability to manage complex cases and provide expert professional advice
• Strong multi-agency partnership experience
• Excellent communication and analytical skills
• Ability to complete face-to-face assessments
