About the Role:
We are recruiting on behalf of a local authority for an experienced Assistant Team Manager (ATM) to join a dynamic Assessment Team in Banbury. This is a fantastic opportunity to provide leadership, guidance, and support within Children’s Social Care, helping to deliver vital services to families and children in need.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide professional leadership and management within the Assessment Team
• Support social workers in decision-making, safeguarding, and complex case management
• Ensure effective duty coverage, including attendance in the office on duty days
• Attend weekly Wednesday morning team meetings in person
• Drive high standards of practice, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements
• Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of Children’s Social Care services

Requirements:
• Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
• Strong experience in children’s social care, ideally within assessment teams
• Ability to support, supervise, and motivate staff effectively
• Must attend the office regularly (duty days + Wednesday team meetings)
• Preferably based within one hour of the office (a slightly longer commute may be considered)
• Up-to-date CV (with no unexplained gaps and specific date ranges)
• Right to work in the UK (Passport, Visa, Biometric Residence Card)
• National Insurance Number
• Valid Enhanced DBS Certificate
