About the Role:
We are recruiting on behalf of St Helens Council for an experienced and qualified Team Manager – Children We Look After. This full-time locum role offers a competitive hourly rate of Β£52 with an initial 3-month contract to cover a period of sickness, subject to review and likely extension.

As Team Manager, you will oversee a team of six social workers and one Assistant Team Manager within the Children We Look After service. The role requires strong leadership skills, a commitment to high standards of practice, and extensive experience in children’s social care.

Key Responsibilities:
β€’ Manage caseloads related to Children We Look After.
β€’ Supervise and support a team of social workers and an Assistant Team Manager.
β€’ Ensure quality service delivery in line with statutory responsibilities and local procedures.
β€’ Provide oversight in areas including Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE), Criminal Exploitation (CE), Missing children, and overall care planning.
β€’ Contribute to service improvement and performance monitoring.

Requirements:
β€’ Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
β€’ Proven experience in a managerial role within children’s services.
β€’ Strong understanding of legislation and procedures related to Children We Look After.
β€’ Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
β€’ Enhanced DBS Certificate (must be registered on the Update Service).
