About the Role:
We are recruiting on behalf of St Helens Council for an experienced and qualified Team Manager β Children We Look After. This full-time locum role offers a competitive hourly rate of Β£52 with an initial 3-month contract to cover a period of sickness, subject to review and likely extension.
As Team Manager, you will oversee a team of six social workers and one Assistant Team Manager within the Children We Look After service. The role requires strong leadership skills, a commitment to high standards of practice, and extensive experience in childrenβs social care.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Manage caseloads related to Children We Look After.
β’ Supervise and support a team of social workers and an Assistant Team Manager.
β’ Ensure quality service delivery in line with statutory responsibilities and local procedures.
β’ Provide oversight in areas including Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE), Criminal Exploitation (CE), Missing children, and overall care planning.
β’ Contribute to service improvement and performance monitoring.
Requirements:
β’ Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
β’ Proven experience in a managerial role within childrenβs services.
β’ Strong understanding of legislation and procedures related to Children We Look After.
β’ Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
β’ Enhanced DBS Certificate (must be registered on the Update Service).
