About the Role:
Weβre recruiting on behalf of Walsall Council for a qualified Social Worker to join their Adults Social Care β Learning Disabilities Team. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced professionals passionate about improving outcomes for adults with care and support needs.
Youβll work in partnership with adults and their carers to carry out strengths-based assessments and care planning under the Care Act 2014, ensuring people can live as independently and safely as possible.
Main Purpose of the Role:
β’ Improve outcomes for adults with care and support needs and their carers
β’ Undertake strengths-based assessments and person-centred care planning in line with the Care Act 2014
β’ Lead and participate in safeguarding activity to protect individuals from abuse or neglect
β’ Practice in accordance with professional standards, ethics, and values
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Practice within the legislative framework and council policies and procedures
β’ Complete strengths-based assessments and reviews promoting independence and resilience
β’ Co-produce care and support plans, including agreeing financial contributions where required
β’ Manage a varied caseload and ensure work is completed within required timescales
β’ Identify and manage risk and safeguarding concerns through planning and intervention
β’ Maintain accurate and timely case records in accordance with council procedures
β’ Participate in regular supervision and keep management informed of key case developments
β’ Support newly qualified and student social workers
β’ Commit to continuous professional development and uphold Social Work England standards
β’ Promote anti-discriminatory and inclusive practice at all times
Requirements:
β’ Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
β’ Proven experience working with adults in a social care setting, ideally within learning disabilities
β’ Knowledge of the Care Act 2014 and safeguarding principles
β’ Strong assessment, care planning, and risk management skills
β’ Ability to maintain clear, accurate, and timely records
β’ Commitment to anti-discriminatory practice and professional ethics
