💰 Rate: £38.83 per hour (Umbrella)

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and committed Children Social Worker to join the Family Help Team in Luton. You will work closely with children, young people, and their families, as well as colleagues and partner agencies, to provide support and protection for those with complex needs and risks.

This role involves assessing needs, planning and implementing multi-agency interventions, and delivering high-quality social work practice to promote safety, stability, and wellbeing. You will also mentor and coach less experienced staff and help develop effective practice standards in line with Social Work Professional Standards.

Key Responsibilities:
• Complete assessments, statutory visits, and parenting assessments
• Plan and deliver targeted, early support to prevent escalation of concerns
• Undertake joint working with internal and external partners
• Support families to build resilience and avoid statutory intervention
• Mentor and coach less experienced colleagues
• Contribute to developing clear practices and procedures within the team
• Help managers ensure key performance indicators are met

About You:
• Qualified Social Worker with relevant professional registration
• Experience working with children and families with complex needs
• Strong assessment and intervention skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with partners and families
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
• Strong communication and mentoring skills
• Ability to work flexibly in a hybrid model
