💰 Rate/Salary: £29.99 per hour (Umbrella)

About the Role:
We are currently recruiting on behalf of Walsall Council for an experienced and qualified Adult Social Worker to join their Mental Health Team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled practitioner to support adults with mental health needs while working within a multi-disciplinary framework that promotes high standards of care, statutory compliance, and person-centred practice.

Key Responsibilities:
• Undertake statutory assessments and reviews under the Care Act 2014, including:
– Section 9: Needs Assessments
– Section 27: Review of Care and Support Plans
• Coordinate and monitor Section 117 Aftercare provisions
• Apply frameworks including:
– Mental Capacity Act 2005
– Mental Health Act 1983 (amended 2007)
– Equality Act 2010
• Embed person-centred planning and safeguarding in all casework
• Work within a multi-agency setting alongside health, housing, advocacy, and voluntary services
• Maintain timely and accurate case records following professional standards and local procedures

Requirements:
• Recognised Social Work qualification
• Registered with Social Work England
• Significant post-qualification experience in adult mental health services
• Strong ability to manage complex caseloads, assess risk, and carry out safeguarding and statutory interventions
• In-depth knowledge of legislation, policies, and best practices related to adult mental health
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
• Right to work in the UK
