About the Role:
Torbay Council is currently seeking a qualified and experienced Children’s Social Worker to join their Cared For Team. This role focuses on supporting children who are looked after by the local authority, helping them achieve stability and permanence. You’ll work closely with foster carers, adoptive parents, and other professionals to ensure the child’s well-being remains central to all planning. This is a meaningful opportunity to make a lasting difference in a child’s life.

Key Responsibilities:
• Support children in care to achieve permanence and emotional security
• Develop and maintain relationships with foster carers, adoptive families, and agencies
• Produce high-quality care plans focused on the child’s needs and aspirations
• Attend statutory reviews, court hearings, and multi-agency meetings
• Ensure all work is in line with current legislation and statutory requirements

Requirements:
• Qualified Social Worker (registered with Social Work England)
• Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience in children’s social care
• Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory frameworks
• Excellent communication, planning, and organisational skills
• Right to work in the UK
