About the Role:
We’re currently seeking an experienced and customer-focused Revenues & Benefits Customer Service Advisor to join Sandwell Council’s Revenues and Benefits team. This vital role involves face-to-face and telephone support for residents on Council Tax, Housing Benefits, and other local authority services.
Please note: This is an office-based role only—hybrid/home working is not available.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide advice and guidance on Benefits and Council Tax issues
• Support residents via telephone, email, and face-to-face interaction
• Encourage and assist customers in using electronic and telephone contact options
• Maintain accurate records and case notes using NEC/IWorld systems
• Collaborate with internal departments to deliver excellent service
• Ensure work complies with current legislation and local policy

Requirements:
• Previous experience in a Revenues and Benefits environment
• Proficiency in using NEC/IWorld systems
• Strong communication skills with a customer-first mindset
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
• Basic IT competency and case management experience
• Availability to work full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:45am–5:00pm
