We’re currently seeking an experienced Locum Social Worker to join the Family Support and Protection team in Chelmsford. This is an opportunity to work within a compassionate, collaborative, and professional environment dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of children, young people, and their families.
You’ll be empowered to develop professionally while delivering meaningful outcomes for the community.

Key Responsibilities:
• Carry out complex assessments and develop tailored support plans for children and families
• Deliver effective interventions to safeguard and promote children’s welfare
• Work within legal frameworks and apply professional judgement to determine need for statutory intervention
• Collaborate with internal teams, external agencies, and community organisations
• Prepare professional documentation, including assessments, reports, and court statements
• Champion a child-centred, preventative approach focused on independence and early support
• Take a lead in multi-agency discussions, influencing planning and decision-making

Requirements:
• Recognised social work qualification (DipSW, Degree, Masters, CQSW, CSS or equivalent)
• Registration with Social Work England
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a social work setting (Children & Families)
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Confidence in navigating complex family and social dynamics
