Are you passionate about improving lives and ensuring people get the right support at the right time? Sutton Council is looking for a dedicated and organised Support Broker to join our dynamic Brokerage Team within Adult Social Care.

As a Support Broker, you’ll play a pivotal role in arranging high-quality care services for residents—whether in their own homes or in residential settings—based on Social Workers’ support plans. You’ll ensure services are person-centred, cost-effective, and delivered efficiently to meet each individual’s needs and preferences.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Collaborate with internal teams including Social Locality Teams, Commissioning, START, Hospital Discharge, and Safeguarding.
  • Work with external stakeholders such as care providers, voluntary sector partners, service users and their families.
  • Arrange appropriate care packages that reflect support plans, ensuring best value and quality outcomes.
  • Manage a busy duty system including handling calls, emails, and referrals via Mosaic.
  • Identify and overcome barriers to service access, working flexibly to ensure smooth transitions for service users.
  • Keep accurate records and contribute to performance indicators, safeguarding procedures and policy compliance.
  • Be a knowledgeable advisor, offering creative solutions to meet diverse client needs.

What We’re Looking For

  • Solid knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS).
  • Understanding of safeguarding legislation and best practice.
  • Significant experience within the care sector. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills – empathetic, solution-focused and a great communicator.
  • Excellent organisational skills – able to prioritise and meet deadlines in a busy environment.
  • IT confident, with the ability to maintain accurate case records.
  • Commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in service delivery and the workplace.
  • A proactive team player who’s open to learning and personal development.
