Type: 8 month agency contract with potential for ongoing extension
Hours: Full time – 37 hours
Pay: Competitive rate of £32-£35+ per hour, negotiable based on experience
About the Role:
Our Family Assessment and Support Teams you will work with a range of children and their families, carers and networks.
This will include children in need, children subject to child protection plans and those where public law proceedings are needed.
A good understanding of all these aspects of the legislation, practice and court process will be needed.
We are looking for Social Workers with at least three years post qualifying experience and a ‘can do’ attitude who are child focused, like to think outside of the box and are creative in their planning with children.
Key responsibilities include:
Assessment and Intervention: Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks, and developing tailored intervention plans to address these effectively.
Safeguarding: Implementing child protection procedures to safeguard children from harm, including managing cases subject to Child in Need or Child Protection Plans.
Support and Advocacy: Providing direct support to children, young people, and their families, advocating for their needs, and facilitating access to appropriate services and resources.
Collaboration: Working closely with multi-agency partners, including health professionals, educators, and law enforcement, to coordinate support and ensure a holistic approach to family welfare.
Case Management: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records, preparing reports for meetings and court proceedings, and managing a diverse caseload effectively.
Professional Development: Engaging in regular supervision, training, and reflective practice to maintain high standards of social work practice and contribute to service development.
