Rate: £42 per hour (Umbrella)
Job Purpose:
Northamptonshire Children’s Trust is seeking an experienced and dedicated Team Manager – Fostering. You will lead and manage a team within our fostering service, ensuring the highest standards of care and safeguarding for children and young people. This role is crucial for improving outcomes for vulnerable children and delivering the Trust’s statutory responsibilities in fostering and adoption services.
Main Accountabilities:
- Leadership & Management: Lead, manage, and direct the daily operations of children’s social care teams, including the allocation of work and making case-related decisions in line with statutory requirements.
- Staff Supervision & Development: Recruit, supervise, appraise, and develop social workers and family support staff to ensure they have the skills and training needed to provide effective services.
- Budget Management: Manage team budgets efficiently, monitor expenditure patterns, and inform budget planning processes.
- Partnership & Multi-Agency Working: Develop and maintain strong relationships with schools, healthcare providers, and partner agencies to ensure coordinated services that safeguard children and promote early intervention.
- Team & Service Planning: Develop team plans aligned with the Trust’s strategic goals and performance targets. Use local needs assessments to inform resource allocation and improve service delivery.
- Quality Assurance & Performance Management: Drive service improvements through audits, data management, performance monitoring, and managing complaints in accordance with Trust policies and regulatory standards.
- Equality & Diversity: Ensure services and team management comply with Northamptonshire Children’s Trust’s Equality Policy.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure that health and safety requirements are met for the team and service locations.
Additional Duties:
Perform other duties relevant to the role, including deputising for senior managers and representing the service in internal and external projects as required.
Requirements:
- Proven experience managing and developing social care teams.
- In-depth knowledge of fostering recruitment, marketing, and child protection legislation.
- Strong leadership, communication, and multi-agency collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage budgets, deliver performance targets, and implement service improvements.
