Pay Rate: £30 – £32 Umbrella Payee

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proficiency in assessment procedures and innovative care packages for Deaf/Deafblind adults, with an awareness of their needs.
  • Understanding of Deaf/Deafblind-related and mental health legislation.
  • Familiarity with key policies, legislation, and guidance for supporting the client group.
  • Knowledge of local community resources.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding issues.
  • Understanding of welfare and benefits systems.
  • Experience with personal budgets.
  • Awareness of equality-related policies, procedures, and legislation.
  • Methods of working with service users, carers, and voluntary groups.

Experience:

  • Front-line experience with Deaf/Deafblind adults.
  • Broad experience with social care needs, including learning disabilities, physical disabilities, older persons, and blind individuals.
  • Experience working in a multi-agency environment/partnership.
  • Experience interviewing service users and carers.

Education, Qualifications, and Training:

  • Appropriate qualification, e.g., DipSW (desirable).
  • British Sign Language L3 (essential).
  • Deafblind L3 (essential).

Skills and Abilities:

  • Effective written and spoken communication skills.
  • Ability to organise workload with effective planning and organisational skills for managing a caseload.
  • Ability to work autonomously and accept responsibility and accountability within guidelines.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Ability to communicate in Deaf/Deafblind manual language.
